Support and Training Committee (SAT)

Mandate:
 to develop, deliver, and maintain support, training, and
documentation services to all Chebucto FreeNet users and
Information Providers
Accomplishments:
- developed and delivered training to more than 45 users and 25
information providers
 - provided voice line and email support to over 500 users
 - organized the Help Desk, including locally written and other
online help materials
 - supported the Public Access Terminal (PAT) at the Halifax City Regional Library,
Spring Garden Road
 - developed a file of documentation for modem connections and
evaluation of various communications software
 - developed a Frequently Asked Quuestions (FAQ) document for CFN users
 - formed working teams:
- Help Desk
 - User Support
 - Information Provider Support
 - PAT Support
 - Dial-Up Support
 
 
Plans for the coming year:
- develop and expand upon above services
 - coordinate Tip of the Week (helpful hints, new shortcuts,
neat ideas, interesting home pages, etc.)
 - create a hard copy User's Manual
 - develop an outline of procedures for getting help
 
Volunteers are needed to help on all the teams.
