General Objectives

• Train Volunteers and Information Providers
• Help the new user get online
• Help people help themselves
• Encourage self study and independent learning
• Encourage use of online help and resources
• Teach the basics of using Chebucto Community Net
• Instill a sense of community
• Follow the mandate of the Chebucto Community Net Society Vision and Mission

Objectives Pertinent to Individual Groups

Beginner Training

• Introduce the user to Chebucto Community Net
• Help the new user feel comfortable with using computers
• Give the new user an opportunity to become a registered user, and so obtain a Log In ID and password

User Training

• Facilitate the awareness of resources available on the system
• Allow anyone to have the opportunity of taking a User Training course
• Design courses with the needs of IPs in mind

IP Training

• Maintain a level of quality in students (because their information will be on the system)
• Facilitate learning of HTML and conventions of information installation on the system
• Encourage IPs to volunteer as IP liasons and trainers
